Spinal Manipulation

A method of moving the spine in ways to correct for improper motion between pairs of vertebrae (spinal bones).  This is also known as an adjustment.   The purpose of spinal adjustments is to return the spine to a natural state of health and to reduce pain, muscle spasms, and nerve irritation.

Extremity and Jaw (TMJ) Manipulation

The correction of improper joint motion is not limited to the spine.  These adjustments can also be done for extremity problems, such as the shoulder, hip and ankle as well as the jaw (AKA the TMJ or temporomandibular joint).

Also called Cox Technique, is a type of manipulation utilizing a specialized adjusting table to provide a gentle traction to the spine.  It is mainly used for pinched nerves in the lower back due to bulging (AKA slipped) discs but can also be used to provide a generalized lower back stretch.

Myofascial Release

The goal of this is to improve muscle, ligament and fascia elasticity, mobility and length.  Examples of this are instrument assisted myofascial release, also known by the proprietary name Graston Technique, and active or passive myofascial release, sometimes called by the proprietary name ART (Active Release Technique).
